My take:
This book was a game changer for me. It introduced me to the concept of predictive processing and how this applies to inner (interoceptive) experience. She took this further and applied it to emotions, arguing that emotions too are constructed ( this the Theory of Constructed Emotion).
Whilst she didn’t state it, the parallels between what she did describe and the shifts experienced in religious insight and awakening were striking. This book fundamentally changed how I relate to and explain existing inquiry practices.
